Amanda Seyfried's 7-year-old daughter has great taste in movies!
While speaking with people on the red carpet at the Best Friends Animal Society Gala held at the Glass House in New York City, the 38-year-old Girls Club star revealed that her previous project with her little daughter was her biggest hit.
"She's obsessed with it," Seyfried told PEOPLE about her eldest daughter, Nina, who loves Mamma Mia!. The actress also has a son, Thomas, with husband Thomas Sadoski.
"My mom showed it to my daughter, and now she's obsessed with it. She's 7, so she's in second grade, but all her friends are obsessed with it. Now they're starting to recognize me as Sophie, which is a little weird, but I'm so happy," Seyfried said of her role in the 2008 musical comedy.
"I don't think she fully understands it, but she loves it. She loves it!" Oh, here we go again.
"She loves them both and she's like, 'Can I meet Mama Mia right now?' Even yesterday she was like, 'Yeah, one or two, which one?'" Seyfried told People.
According to the star, Nina's favorite song these days is "one."
"And we listen and she's like, 'No, let's do 'Lay All Your Love on Me.' And I listen to that music with my daughter, and my daughter gets it now and appreciates it in a way," she continued, calling the moment "crazy."
Seyfried also told People that by rescuing pets, kids "learn a lot about life, and about responsibility, and about rescuing animals and giving them a place that wouldn't have existed if they'd stayed in the situation. And standing up for them and taking care of them and teaching them something and just generally taking care of them."
"It's a lesson for kids, and then you add the rescue element to it, and it's only when they realize what a gift it is and they're able to do it," Seyfried continued. "You have the power to do it."
Christine Baranski, Seyfried's co-star in Mamma Mia! and who plays Tanya in the series, recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the possibility of a third film, which also stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth. More.
"I was in my favorite pub in London with [producer] Judy Craymer, and she's planning a Mamma Mia 3. She explained to me the storyline and how it would happen. That's all an actress could tell a magazine!" The interview was published on August 13.
Baranski also described Kramer as the type of producer who "makes things happen" rather than just saying "I wish it would happen."
The Gilded Age actress said producer Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was "a success" and called the film a "phenomenal success" so she "wasn't sure" she'd "bring everybody back together."
"We'd all have a great time on a beautiful island in Greece or Croatia," Baranski said of the perfect storyline. "Hopefully."
As for Seyfried, she spoke about being open to continuing the series during a 2021 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
"If it were up to me, of course there'd be eight Mamma Mia's. Do you know how much fun that would be?" she said at the time.
